Month 1 in Pictures

Since Jonah is over halfway through his second month, I figure I better get on his first month post of pictures.

He's a sweet, sweet baby and has grown so much already. The month flew by in a blur. Throughout the month, we were blessed with many visitors bearing food and arms to cuddle and snuggle the little bundle.

Sweet little thumb sucker.

Jonah left the hospital with a horrible newborn rash and a small staph infection on his little cheek. Thankfully, it healed quickly and the rash eventually cleared up too.

Mommy did lots and lots and lots of nursing. And Jonah did lots and lots of sleeping...both in and out of our arms. At times it was hard to stop and sit still, but the bonus was getting to gaze at all of his teeny tiny parts that would not stay that way for long.

Once he figured out his days and nights, Jonah has been a good little sleeper....so far so good. He started off sleeping 4-6 hour stretches at night; getting up once or twice, and has kept it up. He is sleeping with us and makes a lot of noise while he sleeps, so we don't sleep too soundly. He has had a lot of nasal congestion at night too....poor guy.

Jonah has just now started to outgrow almost all of his newborn diapers and clothing. I think he has put on about 3 pounds since he was born (according to my Wii Fit.)

Mommy and Daddy weren't the only ones falling in love with the newest family member this month, both Eli and Jude spent a lot of time bonding with and loving on their baby brother.

The first month is full of challenges but so many sweet moments too. There was a week or so that if Jonah was awake and not nursing, he was crying. Thankfully that was short lived.

Overall, he was a sleepy, content little guy during his first month. We fell head over heels in love and each one of us is truly smitten. By the end of his first month, he was working on holding his head up and mastering his smile. The first ones are always so fleeting and hard to capture on camera. And as an added first month present, he got his belly button. Finally! Which meant it was time for a slightly more substantial bath.

We are blessed more than we could have ever imagined. Jonah is amazing. He rounds our our Gang quite nicely.

Excited to watch him grow and change....but honestly, he can take his time!
