a-MAZE-ing

Our little dude has become fascinated with mazes.

He (we) discovered this after finding them on kids' dinner menus at some restaurants.

Many are difficult, but he never shies away from the challenge.

We finally decided to get him a book of mazes on his level.

He loves them! Can you tell?

Geogette & Rockets

We had a very fun visitor at our house last weekend. Georgette, the monkey! Georgette is the preschool monkey that goes home with students on the weekends for fun overnight visits. Eli has very patiently and eagerly awaited his turn to have Georgette at his house. He was thrilled to bring her home on Friday, and we were sure to show Georgette a good time.

Georgette went everywhere with Eli and did everything that Eli did. Whether it was taking a nap or playing in the sandbox.

Saturday was our school's Spring Celebration, so we loaded Georgette up into Eli's backpack, and she joined in the fun. Dunk tanks...

...and face painting.

Sunday, Eli helped Daddy put the finishing touches on our model rockets,

and then we set out to launch them with Aunt Kristi and Steve.

Eli was pretty darn excited about launching rockets, as you can imagine. He (and Georgette) wanted to be a part of every step.

Eli even got to push the button once....

but quickly decided that the rockets were loud when they launched. His conclusion: you cannot cover your ears AND push the button to launch the rockets at the same time.

And he couldn't let Georgette's ears go unprotected.

It was a fun morning launching rockets,

watching them come down (hoping they didn't get caught up in a tree....as two of the small ones did),

and heading out to retrieve them.

We hope Georgette had a fun weekend at the Carson household. Eli is already talking about what we can do when she comes home with us NEXT year. Thanks for coming, Georgette!

Number 4

Today, I helped organize a group of 6 students, teachers, and even a parent from my school to cut and donate 10 or more inches of hair to Locks of Love.

Locks of Love makes wigs and hairpieces for children with cancer or other hair loss diseases, such as alopecia.

I was so proud of the brave girls who got up on stage in front of the entire school to cut their hair with me. And thanks to Haute Headz for donating the cuts and styles. I am hoping to make it a yearly tradition at our school....maybe we'll even get some fellas to join in the cut next year.

This was my 4th donation, and each time I am surprised at how short it is. It takes some getting used to, but I think I like. Way more style than I've had in the past.

Knock, Knock

He's becoming the master of the "knock, knock" joke. A sample of his favorites for your viewing pleasure.

And his most recent....which took some time to master the timing.

Still Slacking

No excuses, I've just been a blog slacker this year. Ok, maybe one little excuse: I haven't been taking pictures lately. I know. Me? Not take pictures? Crazy! Right? Anyways, Matt got a new, little, waterproof video camera. Perfect for the beach and pools. Just in time for summer, so I have been letting him do the documenting (a.k.a I can go hands free and enjoy myself while leaving the picture taking to him!) But, the new camera took some "learning" and we finally got around to uploading the pictures and videos from the last couple of weekends onto the computer.

What we've been up to for the past 3 weekends...in a nutshell....GO!
We went to the beach 3 weekends ago. The highlight of that weekend was Eli learning to cast with his new fishing pole.
2 weekends ago, we went to Dunedin for a visit and for the baptism of a family friend's daughter. Highlights from that weekend included a pedicure for Mommy and Aunt Ann (ahhhh!), swimming,

Eli's first (non-spring training) Blue Jays game (they were in town playing the Rays),

and of course the beautiful baptism.
Finally, last weekend. We stayed put and did a bunch of yard work. Not a lot of fun, but had to be done.
Done! Blog updated. Time to go rescue the tantrum-throwing overtired boy from up stairs.
