Life After Spring Break

So after being out of town for almost two full weeks, we had lots of laundry to do and a routine to get back into.

Yeah, that didn't happen. The laundry did, but that was about it. I tried....really I did. Instead, we made it through.  We survived the week.  And then we escaped reality and went back down to the beach.  Hey, what can we say?....Beach life is just better than day-to-day routine.  Don't think many would argue with me.

But while in town, we did have the honor of celebrating Aunt Kristi's birthday with her. Eli worked hard on some homemade cards that he was more than happy to read for her.

Always fun to celebrate birthdays...especially when there is yummy ice cream cake involved. Mmm!

Even though we didn't do much, it was still a fun week at home. We stayed just long enough on Saturday for t-ball, but then we hit the road for sunny skies and sandy shores.  So glad we did.  It was another gorgeous weekend.

I told you waking up at the beach is just better.  The sunrises are amazing....and thanks to my littlest one's daily wake up calls, I get to see them all.

Jude figured out how to play football with the waves, and Eli thought it was a great idea.  Just throw it in (not too deep...) and it will come back to you.  Voila!  Instant football game.

This brave fella got bored of that game quickly and took off on his own adventure.

Since I have started taking more pictures with my phone, I have been having fun with the Instagram app.  Some of the effects are pretty cool.

The weekend before, Eli and Daddy came up with a racing game on the beach where you have to run back and forth, knocking over sand castles as fast as you can.  Each time you run, you try to beat your time from before....well, this weekend, a head-to-head match up between Eli and Uncle Steve went down.  Uncle Steve was slow off the starting line, so Eli had a pretty good lead....

Notice the hat came off, Uncle Steve had to get serious if he stood a chance of catching up....

Our winner!  It was a close finish, but I think Eli managed to pull it out.

And this sweet baby started to get sleepy.  He kept falling down in the sand, face first. Poor Jude would just lay there with his face in the sand until I went and picked him up. Time for a nap!

Then we had to face reality and head home.  We spent that week finding our routine...kinda...and getting ready for Easter. I did manage to crank out a couple of sewing projects for Easter weekend...

matching bow ties for the boys to wear to mass,

and sock bunnies for their Easter baskets.

Currently, we are fighting off sickness and allergies in this house.  Eli has a nasty looking set of tonsils and is running a fever while Jude had an allergic reaction to something (grass?).  Lots of down time, movie watchin', and Gatorade sippin' going on around here.  Hope to find time to catch up a bit more this week.  I'm getting there.
